Cuckoo Hall Academy

I was treated to a short tour of Cuckoo Hall Academy, led by school ambassadors Zaynah Oksaroglu and Daragh Flannery, before attending the ribbon cutting ceremony to open the new library. The ceremony was attended by Cuckoo Hall Headteacher Sharon Ahmet, Mark Evans, who sits on Cuckoo Hall Academies Trust Board of Governors, academy’s and a group of Zaynah and Daragh’s classmates.

I took the opportunity to say a few words about the importance of literature in education, before students from Cuckoo Hall’s Glee Choir treated her to a live performance. Books and literature are fundamental to our children’s education, and it was an honour to be opening the beautiful new library at Cuckoo Hall Academy. It is a further positive development to help the school continue to grow.
