Coca-Cola’s Edmonton factory has celebrated its 40th anniversary and is showing signs of continued growth with further investment of £300,000 over the next year. Operations Director, Steve Thorpe, gave me an insight into the factories success. This year also marks the 50,000th student the factory has introduced to the in-house Education Centre, where they inspire and encourage young people to prepare for future careers inside and out of the Supply chain industry. 234 people are employed at the Edmonton facility, 42 live in the constituency with an average length of service being 12 ½ years. CC Edmonton is the sole manufacturer of Oasis drink in the U.K and 97% of drinks owned by CC bought in the U.K are manufactured in this country. I hope further growth provides more jobs for constituents and increased opportunities to teach the youth of Edmonton.
