Kate Osamor MP Backs Corbyn

Kate Osamor, the Labour and Co-op Member of Parliament for Edmonton is

backing Jeremy Corbyn’s campaign to be leader of the Labour Party.

Kate Osamor was one of the 35 Labour MPs who nominated Jeremy Corbyn to

ensure he got on the ballot paper for the leadership election. Since then, she has

been working closely with Jeremy Corbyn on his equalities agenda. Edmonton

Labour Party also gave a supporting nomination to Jeremy Corbyn at a meeting

last month.

Speaking on why she is backing Jeremy Kate Osamor MP said:

“I’m backing Corbyn because his campaign has got thousands of people, young

and old, involved in politics for the first time. This enthusiasm is a reflection of the

widespread support for the policies and positive vision he is putting forward.”

“Jeremy’s policies are particularly relevant to Edmonton where we have a serious

housing crisis and high rates of child poverty. We urgently need investment in

social housing & public services – both ideas which Jeremy has put at the centre

of his leadership campaign. His pledge to bring back EMA and scrap university

tuition fees would also be a massive boost for young people in the area. ”
