Kate Osamor's Better Plan for Neighbourhood Policing

Over the last few years, neighbourhood policing under this government has been in crisis. In Enfield, two of our police stations have been closed and over 100 police officers and PCSOs have been axed. In the borough, violent crime is up 28%, reports of rape are up 22% and other sexual offences are up 70% along with hate crimes which rose by 30%. We cannot go on like this, Labour’s Kate Osamor has a better plan.

Kate Osamor will support measures to scrap Police and Crime Commissioner Elections in order to protect 1,100 police officers in London, raise policing standards with a new police standards authority and work with community groups and schools to help deter youngsters from a life of crime.

I want to learn more about what is affecting our area, with a view to helping Kate’s campaigns to change negative local behaviours in Edmonton.
