Kate Osamor MP was delighted to welcome Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan to a tour of Meridian Water, a huge London regeneration programme, creating 10,000 new homes and 6,700 new jobs.
Meridian Water will be a 20-year regeneration programme, offering 4,000 affordable homes and 5,000 traineeships and apprenticeships will be ring-fenced for local people to gain the skills needed during construction and beyond.
Invited guests, Chief Executive of Enfield Council, Rob Leak, Leader of the Council, Cllr Doug Taylor, Mayor of Enfield, Cllr Bernadette Lappage, Cllr Alan Sitkin, Cllr Ahmet Oykener, James Murray, Deputy Mayor for Housing and residential Development and Jules Pipe, Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills.
Speaking on the visit, Kate said;
“We’re delighted to have the opportunity to show the Mayor of London our new regeneration programme. Meridian Water will establish a fantastic legacy for Edmonton, creating affordable housing more jobs and local businesses.
This major development will make Edmonton a great place to live.”
