Kate Osamor MP is delighted that Sadiq Khan has been elected Mayor of London.
Sadiq Khan, the frontrunner in the polls, safely won the position ahead of his main rival, Conservative MP Zac Goldsmith. He replaces the Conservative Boris Johnson MP, who served two terms as London’s mayor.
Speaking on the subject, Kate says:
“Throughout the campaign, Sadiq Khan has presented a positive and inclusive vision for Londoners. He has engaged members of the public across different classes and communities, and has made policy commitments that aim to tackle the widening inequality in the city head on.
For example, through a commitment to 50% affordable homes target and a first dibs for Londoners policy, Sadiq will ensure that the new homes being built in our city are accessible.
I am delighted that Labour are taking back City Hall and I have every confidence that Sadiq will do an excellent job.”
