Kate Osamor, the Labour and Co-op Member of Parliament for Edmonton, has welcomed the election of Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the Labour Party. Jeremy was elected as Labour leader on Saturday the 12th of September in a landslide victory with nearly 60% of the vote.
Speaking on the subject Kate Osamor MP said:
“This result is a sign that politics is changing and that people want to do things differently. Jeremy won this election by running a positive campaign involving thousands of volunteers across the country. Jeremy’s election has been a massive boost to the Labour Party, as it has seen thousands of new members sign up and get involved.”
“I backed Jeremy through this campaign because I believe his policies reflect the needs of Edmonton. He has pledged serious action to deal with the housing crisis, as well as investment in education and training for young people. Since his election, Jeremy has brought together a unifying Shadow Cabinet and I look forward to working with them to put forward a convincing alternative to the Tories.”
