Kate Osamor MP
Honoured to be included in The i Paper International Women’s Day piece on the fights for campaigners, politicians and change-makers in 2019. My words are below, but you can read the words of many inspiring people here.
“Women remain under-represented and unheard around the world, denied rights and a voice. As the former shadow International Development Secretary, I committed Labour to launching the UK’s first explicitly feminist international development policy when next in power.
“In 2019, I will continue my fight for women’s rights both in the UK and around the world: be it for equal representation in Westminster, by standing in solidarity with women in Rojava, or for women and girls in Edmonton and across the UK who are bearing the brunt of austerity. We must seize the opportunity that a genuinely progressive Labour Party gives to right these injustices.”
