Thank you for re-electing me as your Labour & cooperative MP for Edmonton.

I will work hard to repay that faith that you have placed in me for the third time in four years.

As a Party, there will be time to reflect on lessons, and on how we can bring about a radical and transformative government at the next opportunity.

Despite devastating election results for Labour nationally, here in Edmonton you have put your faith in me and Labour to fight Boris Johnson and his vision of Britain.

We must also be honest about what a Government led by Boris Johnson now means for Edmonton. There will be very hard times ahead.

Since being elected in 2015, I’ve stood up for our community, calling for an end to austerity. Nine years of crippling Tory & Lib Dem austerity has left our hospitals, schools, police and social care system at breaking point.

That makes it even more important that the people of Edmonton have an MP who will stand up for them every step of the way, whether it is fighting austerity or helping constituents with personal problems.

I will do just that and push to tackle inequality and work for the fairer society we are so desperate to see.
