Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Enfield this morning.  Officers were called to Aberdeen Road at around 5am this morning, where police and ambulance services found a man suffering a stab injury.  The victim was taken to an east London hospital, and according to the last information I have, his condition is being treated as life-threatening.

The incident follows four attacks over the weekend, which the police believe were linked.  The two males previously arrested on suspicion of GBH both remain in custody.

Kate Osamor, MP for Edmonton, said: “My thoughts are with the victims of these attacks and their families and friends.  The shock and worry families are going through must be appalling.  I wish for the very best for the victims and hope they are able to recover from this terrible trauma.

“This is the fifth attack in the last four days, and I know I am not alone when I say this has been extremely alarming.  This is an ongoing and complex investigation, and the police are keeping me informed of developments.  At this time it would not be right for me to speculate on the causes and motives behind these attacks.

“All of us in Edmonton must continue to pull together and remain vigilant.  I can confirm that additional police officers have been deployed into the area.  If anyone has any concerns or information I encourage them to speak to a police officer in person or by calling 101.”
