Tax justice is vital to a healthy society and a healthy economy.

Millions of businesses are responsible and ethical, who pay their taxes and support our community. But there is a minority that don’t live up to those standards. Tax avoidance is operated on an industrial scale, denying our hospitals, our schools and carers the resources they need.

The Labour Party continually champions clamping down on tax avoidance in dialogue with the government. We are working to mobilise shareholder power to demand companies uphold basic tax justice standards. This includes launching a shareholder campaign demanding companies sign up to the Fair Tax Mark standards, demonstrating transparently that they pay their fair share of taxes.
